I have had a continuous problem with lack of grass growth due to trees that were planted which are now blocking sun from the backyard. They have said they were going to cut the trees down, but have not done it yet.

Months ago I had to get a lot of the back dug up to locate a water cut-off that was covered by the landscaping the previous tenants did. Since then, they have put down straw, but the small amount of grass that was there is now completely barren. The landscaping company the HOA uses does not even come to tend to the back of my unit at all when they come weekly. Basically, the back of my unit is unattended to at all.

I expressed that either some lawn treatments need to be done, or the trees need to be cut down; which is something that should have happened a long time ago, and I have been patient about. They are telling me it won’t happen anytime soon due to the budget.

I feel I have been very patient, and I pay my dues every month on time, never late. Is there anyway to make them expedite this? It is going on two years and I feel it is unfair that I have to be stuck in this situation being that I keep up with my part of the bargain, which is paying my fees.

The trees are in a private common area. According to my HOA, nothing at ALL is allowed to be tampered with outside of our doors, including our private common areas.

In the beginning, I really didn’t have problems with the trees at all. They definitely make my grounds more beautiful. Grass growth was minimal, but it was enough to make the back appealing.

Since they dug up the yard however, the grass has NOT grown back at all…it is just barren. I have tried treating the area myself and have asked the HOA to treat it as well. I have not been successful. They will not even try because of the fact the trees are blocking the area. The keep saying they need to remove the trees, but haven’t done it. Yet, I am not allowed to get any work done myself. So I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place.
